Have you ever thought that the news you read is not as neutral as it seems?

This is more common than it appears, as in many cases, the person who writes the news has personal biases in favor of an ideological movement or political party and writes with the intention of praising a candidate or supporting an action they take. Conversely, the goal might be to damage the reputation of an opposition candidate simply because they don't share the same views. It may also happen that certain details are omitted to cover up facts in order to protect an individual or an important institution, or because those facts might harm the state. So yes, many times we don't really know how much truth there is in the news we read, hear, or watch, and whether it is being told from an impartial perspective.

Have you ever wondered how fictional stories seem so real in movies?

Yes, but I understand that in many cases, they take inspiration from real-life events and adapt them into fictional stories. Often, changes are made to build a compelling plot, but the foundation is still based on real events. There are many examples of this, such as Schindler's List and Catch Me If You Can, or more recent examples in Colombia, like Operation Hope, which is based on the story of the lost children in the Amazon jungle. This is the goal of cinema: to create a world so real that the viewer feels as if what is happening is reality, fully immersing them in the story during its duration.

HOBBIES  AND INTERESTS

My hobbies

I have several hobbies. I like going to the movies or watching series at home, going out for bike rides or walking with my pet through the parks in my city, and playing video games.

INTEREST

For several years I have been learning about photography and video editing, topics such as composition, framing, montages, rhythm, effects, etc. However, due to the 2020 pandemic, I had to postpone my studies and that same year I discovered a page called freecodecamp to learn how to program websites and little by little my interest in technology grew, so I decided to take it more seriously and enter the SENA to learn and complement my knowledge in multimedia and especially in the programming and creation of websites.

Critical Thinking and Media Literacy

Critical thinking:   It is the ability to analyze information in an objective and clear way, questioning ideas, contrasting information, evaluating evidence.
Since in a world like the one we live in today where access to information is very easy and fast, it is very common to find fake news that seeks to confuse and generate misinformation, on almost any topic of public interest, so before sharing it is best to contrast and evaluate how much veracity there is in what you read or hear.

Media literacy: refers to the ability to find and search for information in the media such as: television, internet, social networks, and digital media, in order to: understand implicit and explicit messages (such as biases, commercial and political interests).
And also create a type of ethical, truthful and responsible content,
recognizing the impact that the media has on the thoughts and attitudes of a society.
